2022 Street Sweeping
Street sweeping in the Township has started. Weather permitting the Road Department will be cleaning streets and drains along with repairing roads from winter conditions and snow removal. Residents can rake anti skid from yards and place at road age for the street sweeper to pick up. Residents are asked to rake in a row at road edge and not place in piles. Sweeping will continue till all streets are completed.
2022 Spring Clean Up
The Township 2022 Spring Clean Up will be held Monday May 2nd to Saturday May 7th.
Winter Parking Notice
Residents are reminded that there is no street parking during snow and inclement weather events and 8 hours there after.
Winter Weather Conditions in the Forecast
Residents are reminded not to park on streets during winter weather conditions and to keep clear of the plow trucks when roads are being cleared and treated.
Curbside Christmas Tree Pickup
The Road Department started Christmas tree pick up on Monday January 3rd. and pick up will continue until all trees are picked up. Road Crew will not be picking up trees during snow removal and inclement weather. Residents are reminded to remove all decorations and lighting from trees. Christmas trees will be taken to DAMA’s recycling area to be used for composting. Wreaths that do not have wire frames can also be placed curbside and picked up for composting. To date the Road crew has picked up over 300 trees. In 2021 the crew picked up 456 trees for composting.
Road Department Salt Shed Project
A new salt shed for Road Department winter maintenance operations has been in planning and design since 2018. Project went out for bid in 2020 and site work started in February. Project bid was $368,551.00. The Township applied for DCED/LSA gaming grant monies for construction and was awarded $310,500.00. Dallas Area Municipal Authority Stormwater Management Program will also be participating in a cost sharing Stormwater improvement project for the site. The new salt shed will hold over 1,200 tons of salt. The new shed will be replacing the current shed that is over 40 years old and holds 90 tons. Updates will be given throughout the project with an anticipated completion being summer 2021.
